February/March 2010 Updates

Listen Page Changes

The Listen page will see numerous small changes, mostly in content presentation, not so much in look. The audio players will be getting a new makeover thanks to feedback from listeners over the last year. The only reason it has taken so long is due to the size of the project, which requires a lot of flash coding on my part and the possible move to Silverlight keeping me from starting on it. I have finally decided that the current functionality of my players can be migrated to a new and easier interface which also offers a more aesthetic look and feel in its operation. I try to make every aspect of the site match the mode and artistic direction of my work and the mp3 players definitely haven’t ever fit that mold. :) Read the rest of this entry »

Better Website App?

I am doing some research on two possible apps I am interested in. The first is the more popular Adobe Dreamweaver Series – specifically their latest incarnation: CS4. The second is Panic’s Mac OS X-focused Coda. I have always used DW, and currently run my web editing responsibilities on CS3, which has fallen very sadly at the waist side due to poor preview capabilities and a lack of candy (behaviors etc.). I am turning the question out to you, my readers and gathering y our opinions. Please take the time to let me know which you prefer and if you feel extra nice give some reasoning behind your decision. Read the rest of this entry »

Updates to Blog and Site

Starting tomorrow I will begin making some small changes to the site. They might cause some of the links to be temporarily broken. I hope to have everything I have planned for the Blog done in an hour, but the site changes might take a little longer depending on Murphy’s Law. The Survey has been taken down and will undergo a major design overhaul, but hopefully it too will be back up by the end of the week. I promise I won’t leave things broken before leaving to San Antonio. :)

Reflections on E.W.

Beautiful words…from a fucked up mind.

For all that it’s worth, I could end my life…tonight.

But I would be remiss of I should leave this world.

But you were an obsession…you were my world.

I’ve carried you ever since I was a child, confused and defiled.

They tore out my innocence but they were wild.

I’ve seen you in a light bulb,

felt you on the grass,

barefoot on an open spread,

where I’ve stood waiting…waiting for you.

But God did not deem me worthy of any self respect.

It destroyed my only one true hope and threw it back…at me.

You saw me beaten and broken, I was dead…

and if I would try to end my life, would I fade away?

I’ve felt you in the life I’ve lived,

put you in my most obscene acts,

lying naked on a satin bed,

where I’ve been waiting…waiting for you.

Ambitions for 2010

I have been shooting around some ideas for the upcoming listen page changes. After the release of Aphotic Transmissions, I will begin work on a set of suites, later in the year, covering a wide variety of game and film music. Personal releases abound as it is, and I have finally decided to sit and do some key generic material. This will of course change the way the listen page looks and is laid out slightly, but it shouldn’t be an issue. The current releases, along with Aphotic Transmissions, will be cut to 25-30 second demos and be less emphasized on the page itself. Pralaya and Walking with Myths will be cut out completely and their tracks will be sent into the Unreleased music player. Read the rest of this entry »
