August Coming to a Close

WordPress Link Changes

Tomorrow marks the day when all the WordPress links will be redirected to more SEO friendly ones. This might cause some broken links or 404 error pages for a short time. It will be finished tomorrow unless for some rare instance  that WP really loses its mind.

Store Cart Options Improved

As promised, I will be redoing the album purchases to work much the same way as the MP3′s do. There will be an option to buy or continue shopping. This will allow me to set up future incentives on shipping. I plan on using some of the new USPS mail offers to reduce shipping costs and I would like to pass that on to the customer.

Album Work

Album work is on hold at the moment and will resume in a month or so after I begin properly setting up the site for my affiliate focused experience. Yes, you heard me right…I’m selling out…well sort of (not too flashy and annoying though :) ). I will begin adding loads of reviews and links to purchase some of today’s music hardware and software here in the Blog with relevant product links to my affiliates. I have been a little picky in who I chose to go with but I am sure it will benefit newbies to music production and if you decide to buy the product after reading the page or even would like to visit the retailer’s site, I will get a commission.

Let’s face it: This economy is hurting us all and I am branching out into new realms in order to keep the music and the site available. This site has been my dream for over five years now and has actually been in action for three. Even with the growing number of unique visitors a month, the content will need to integrate listeners, clients, and/or producers to valuable sites and gear – hence the affiliate program – if it is to maintain its presence on the web. If you like my work and generally think the info on the site is useful, please don’t hesitate to put a link up on your myspace, facebook, twitter, or website pages. I appreciate any help I can get.

The FY10 budget already looks bleak and many of the projects originally planned to be released in 2010 have had to be pushed back due to funding constrictions. The site has not received a single donation, a single survey response- even with the discounts and incentives I have offered, and only 23 ratings since mid 2008! However, with all these factors in mind, I am still optimistic and believe in this project. As we say in the Army it’s “time to adjust fire.”
