After pushing back the release of Aphotic Transmissions over and over, I will finally get around to working out all the mix issues and finishing it up this weekend. I hope to have the album available NLT next Monday. The push backs have been a result of some heavy time crunches I’ve been wading though lately on other projects outside the scope of my personal releases. On a side note however, Behind the Shades is next up for release, and it is much closer to being ready for that final polishing than AT ever was. Next up is the array of material for client demos. With that said, there are also a lot of site changes on the way, but nothing too spectacular.

I am really excited to announce that Defiler, from Aphotic Transmissions made 16th on Ourstage’s Ambient channel! That’s the best any of my songs has ever done over there. I thought AT and Behind the Shades would be two albums that might appeal to a wider range of people, and this Ourstage result might be an indicator of that. I am very relieved. LOL

I completed the Aphotic Transmissions lineup, now all I have to do is prepare the final mixes for mastering. Please be sure to let me know what you think of the album. I believe it is, by far, one of the most personal releases I have ever put together. It will most likely be the last release for some time. Production of Pralaya and WWM will be shut off until later in the year.

Older song finds its way on Aphotic Transmissions

I recently said I was releasing a new version of Sorath: The Sun Demon, and I have! It is isn’t complete, as with any of the newer albums – all the tracks are a work in progress and I will most likely add a load of new depth/layers to these tracks…especially Sorath. The new mix will accompany the old one on the AT release, planned for April of next year. The original will be a bonus track whereas the new version is meant to be apart of the new lineup of AT atmospheres. Sorath has taken on a much more tribal and primitive genre rather than the original’s heavily set electronic theme.

It will be tough, but I will continue to work on one of my favorite songs until it is AT worthy.

My Darkest Track on a CD!?

Sorath: The Sun Demon is by far the darkest song I have ever written. I am rearranging it from the ground up for a debut release on Aphotic Transmissions! It has been received quite well with some of the Goth-underground scenes in Europe. The original Sorath will always be in the Unreleased Player, but with East West’s SILK, I can finally make it come close to an honest representation of what it was originally meant to be about. Look for it soon. If you haven’t heard Sorath, listen to it.

I am very excited and I think this will prove quite challenging, being that Sorath was written as a heavy Goth-industrial electronic track – not the typical Dark-Folk melodies packaged with AT. It will be fun, and I am sure it will sound way better.

P.S. Here’s a good guide when choosing which Unreleased songs to start with. I know there are a lot of them, but these stick out above the rest.

Recent AT Releases

I have recently released a significant chunk of work lined up for a release on Aphotic Transmissions. I just wanted to point out that everything from Pralaya down are still works in progress. I have been busily writing new material for these albums and the “mixes” on the site for said albums are likely in need of improvement. However, they are demo worthy. As I mentioned in another recent post, it is likely that after the release of Pralaya and A.T. there will be no more future plans for releasing any more personal albums. This is highly due to the fact that there are so many people telling me that the number of songs I have placed on the listen page deter true listening, or a better way to put it – too overwhelming for a quickly surfing possible.

I never expected that having an overwhelming amount of music to listen to would be a bad thing, but apparently it can be. There has also been a disappointing turn of album sales, which plays an even larger role in developing future CD releases. I hope the material I have been releasing lately might be interesting for listeners. So much so that I can actually start selling these albums. Hopefully…
