Affliction

I look outside and I see you...
driving up the path.
I rush outside so i can meet you...
isn't it a shame, it's so sad...yeah.

This isn't even real,
it's all just a dream.
It's like an affliction
raining down on me.

But what can I say?
I can't even tell the story without falling down...

Falling...falling...falling, down on my knees.
Falling...falling...tripping over my own words as I sing.

But I think this time,
I might have realized
something I never have before in my whole life:

That in dreams, you expect what you "want"
but the gift isn't what it "seems."

And it isn't even real,
it's still just a dream,
a lovely affliction
carried out by me.

What else can I say?
I failed to tell the story,
without getting off point...

Falling...falling...falling, down on my knees.
Falling...falling...tripping over my own words as I speak.
