Do I get a full refund on my 40% down payment should I not like your work?
Aside from specific cases the answer is no. The 40% retainer applies to all projects and secures my time and skill-set, which keeps me from involvement with other projects. I do not work for free (minus select qualifying projects) and free-pitches and demos degrade the creative industry. You wouldn't expect to ask a garage to change your oil for free just to see if you like their service enough to come back would you? I know it would be nice, but creating the musical soul of your project, of which you can continuously collect royalties from the sale, advertisement, or display of your work is not something you should expect to have for free. I pride my work and talent as much as you do.
